About the book

Amal is a 16-year-old with all the usual obsessions about boys, chocolate and Cosmo Girl magazine. She's also a Muslim, struggling to honour the Islamic faith in a society that doesn't understand it. When she moves to a new school, she no longer has to wear her headscarf as part of her uniform, but what if she wants to carry on wearing it? Will covering her hair officially label her the biggest loser of all time with her new classmates? And more importantly what will the super-gorgeous Adam think?
